AMON-RA is a four year EU 7th framework project which aims to realize a working nanowire-based multijunction solar cell (www.amon-ra.eu).
These solar cells are efficient than the conventional solar cells because they consist of several layers that are specialized for a certain part of the sun’s spectrum.
The semiconductor nanowires investigated in this project are grown at Lund University. SEM and TEM imaging techniques are used to examine the morphologies of the nanowires . EDS and EELS are employed to characterize their chemical compositions. The electrical properties of the nanowires, are investigated using electron holography.
